How it Works
A stateless update loop designed for privacy-focused spreadsheet users.
One-Time, Initial Setup
Log in here with the link emailed to you. Then log in to SimpleFIN Bridge and create, copy, and paste a Setup Token for us to use, and provide an encryption password for your starter spreadsheet with. The SimpleFIN permanent Access Token is written directly inside your new encrypted spreadsheet, not in our databases.
Local Customization
Your accounts from SimpleFIN are listed in your spreadsheet's _Config tab. To each one, you can assign categories (e.g. Asset/Liability), classes (e.g. Roth/Non-Roth), etc. You can also add manually tracked assets like your home, cars, precious metals, life insurance, or accounts without SimpleFIN support.
On-Demand Updates
Return here when you want to update your net worth. Upload your encrypted spreadsheet and provide its password. Our backend decrypts your spreadsheet, fetches and updates account balances from SimpleFIN, and returns your updated spreadsheet. The update process usually takes only a few seconds.
The Zero-Trust Guarantee
We believe your financial privacy should be absolute. Here is how we do it:
Zero Database State
We do not store your spreadsheet data, institution or account names, credentials, or balances.
We only store your email address and your remaining Day-Pass credits, and some benign system logs to help us run things.
Ephemeral Processing
When you upload your spreadsheet for updating, it is decrypted, processed, re-encrypted, and immediately wiped from our system.
We never keep your information from SimpleFIN, your spreadsheets, or their passwords.
You're in Control
Your settings, personal data, and our assigned SimpleFIN access key all reside inside of your encrypted spreadsheet.
Revoke our SimpleFIN access key and retain all of your net worth spreadsheets and complete history.
Transparent Day-Pass Pricing
We charge per day of use, not per-refresh, which is very useful during setup and customization. Note that SimpleFIN's API has daily request count limits.
